Rifle Scopes Spuhr 44.4 MOA Mount - Too much cant?

Re: Spuhr 44.4 MOA Mount - Too much cant?

It all depends on your scope.
Maximum tilt for a scope if you still wanna be able to zero at 100 yards are half the total elevation.
So if your scope is a single turn, you have 13mils of elevation, that is 44,4 moa.
That means that the teoreticly tilt for that scope is 22 moa.
So a tilt of 20-25 moa works fine.

If you have a MIL double turn you have a total elevation of 26 mils, the double.
If you have the MOA double turn your total is 56 moa.

I would recomend you to use direct mount as that is more ridgid and a better solution than sandwish-picatinny.
In such case we have both 7mils/24 moa and 13mils/44.4 moa mounts in 1,35" height.

If you wanna use picatinny, the mount is 1,18" that you should use.

Re: Spuhr 44.4 MOA Mount - Too much cant?

Why not just use the 44.4 moa mount designed for the TRG? It mounts directly to the dovetail and incorporates a recoil lug. The only height available is 1.38 and it should clear the barrel provided it is factory, and trust me, you have less elevation in that scope than I do in my 5-25 and I'm switching to the 44 moa mount.

I'm sweating the objective because the barrel is not factory and it doesn't clear by much with the 24 moa mount. I may have to remove the lens cover to clear.

12,5-50 have less elevation than 26 mils so 44,4 Moa is to much.
Better order the 7 mils24 Moa mount or the 5-25 scope that is designed for 13mil/44,4moa

It depends on which version of the 12-50 you have. I have a multi turn 1/8 moa 12-50 and there is over 100 moa total travel. My multi turn turrets are 5 turns at 15 moa per turn but there is more travel available on either side.
