Rifle Scopes Spuhr Mount: A quick question

Hey all

I've been thinking about getting a Spuhr mount and noticed that the top rings have numbers marked.

What are the numbers for? Does it have a special way of installation order (example: 40 rear / 41 front) or Does it matter how they are installed and why?

Notice the extra screw holes in 41? (always towards muzzle)
