SR25 upgrades

[RTH1800]

I have been thinking of upgrading my SR 25 to make a really accurate 6mm CM or 6XC type rifle. I really like the rifle, just wanting to change cal, Suppressor, trigger, and gain some accuracy. Is it the correct platform or should I sell and just get another AR? I really like the KAC
Anyone done this?

Jim Smith (Spartan Tactical) has a spare SR-25 upper in 6XC.

We do not sell spare upper items, so it's not a recommended route I would go with a KAC product.

Trade it in for a Gap10 in 6cm.

I would sell and get you a new rifle. This place loves GAP.

I haven't shot one, but from the reviews it sounds like it would be tough to go wrong with GAP.

Thank you, that is about where I am at anyway. I do not want to bad mouth the KAC, I just want a 6mm. I really like all the features of the KAC and hope I can get many of them in a 6mm.

Rebarreling may be an option -- but honestly if your looking to go with that caliber - it may be the best (and most economical) route to sell your SR for the GAP.

I would leave the KAC alone and just buy yourself the LMT 308 MWS. Its the Same exact gun but has the ability to swap barrels and calibers in seconds plus the upper is one solid piece. Mine shoots 1/2 MOA all day with surplus ammo.
