Newbie question here, tried to search for it, but mostly got group buy info and cant even find lowlights vid review anymore.

Can someone that has a SS 5-20x50 walk me through how to set the 100 meter zero on this scope. I have the elevation set for 100 meters and the the windage at 2, which is dead middle. Now do I just loosen the allen and bring the knob down to the lowest point then re-tighten? Same with windage? I want to have equal l/r for windage.

Thing didnt come with instructions and I can use a general walk through by a kind member here.

Thanks

Yes sir, just loosen the hex screws in the center of the turrets and lift the dial off the turrent. Place the turrent back on with the zero set on both, retighten the screws making sure to hold on to the turrets when you tighten so that don't turn.

208,

Reading your question, I'm not sure whether you have counted clicks to center your reticle or that you mean you have shot the rifle to find your 100m zero.

Your post states that you want "equal l/r windage." If you are using a two piece base with a windage adjustable rear base you can use base to make windage adjustments while keeping the windage knob centered. If you are using a rail base you can make small adjustments by changing the ring gaps or by shimming the inside of the rings. I don't know whether Burris makes Signature Z rings in a Weaver style. If they do the inserts can be used to adjust windage as well as elevation.

In any case, Jeo's instructions to center the turret are correct.

I would also recommend that before you mount your scope you run the power ring, illum. adjustment, side focus parallax dial, windage and elevation through their entire range five to ten times. On my scopes this resulted in much smoother performance and reduced mushiness in the click adjustments.

My apologies if my suggestions on windage adjustment answered a question you were not asking. It was unclear to me where you were in zeroing your scope/rifle.

Re: ss 5-20x50 scope instructions

208, I don't think you are going to get exactly what you are asking. You loosen the hex screw in the cap and set the cap to zero but that only zeros the scale, it does not change the position of the erector positioning mechanism, as far as I know the only system that does that is the US Optics EREK knob.
