hey guys i have a question about resetting the parallax focus for my scope, first what sort of problem will this have as far as sighting in my rifle. how do i go about resetting the parallax index myself or is it to complicated.

Re: ss10x42 parallax resetting

I for one have got no idea what you are asking re: problem sighting in....

By "resetting" the parallax do you mean changing it so that the marked measurements match exactly where it eliminates parallax on your scope with your eyes? If so-don't sweat it, the marked ranges are a guide and they never match reality on any scopes.

Re: ss10x42 parallax resetting

It's not hard but if you do not know what you are doing then it is best to just send it back to the manufacturer. I have done 2 out of the 3 I had (the parallax settings were completely off from what the numbers where).

Let me know if you really are ready to tackle the job and I will see if I can do a write up for you.

Umm, you're saying you moved the objective lens? The parallax control for a SS is either the rear or side adjustment-moving the objective in its housing is how you can adjust parallax on some fixed power scopes.....
