Gunsmithing SSS Competition trigger-anywhere else to purchase?

I've tried for three days to get a hold of sharpshooter supply, so much so that I've practically used up all my cell minutes on listening to a busy signal or "the machine is off". All I want is a friggin' trigger!
Is there anywhere else I can get his trigger online, or at least a dealer that actually answers their phone???
I'm about to just go Rifle Basix...

Here we go again...I was over on another forum where I asked the same question and got the same suggestion. Thank you for showing that SSS does distribute to dealers - I didn't know that. But I got a bit of sticker shock when I saw that Brownells is charging about 25% more than what Sharpshooter supply is selling it for.
Brownells wants $119+ shipping - SSS is $97, shipping included. A pretty bold mark-up if you ask me...it'd be one thing if the $97 was the dealer price but and $119 was about what all dealers were charging but that's not the case.
Once I was informed that SSS does distribute I googled it and found that Tactical Works is also a dealer http://www.tacticalworks.com/search.php?mode=search&page=1 and is asking a much more fair price of $95 plus $5 shipping - only $3 over SSS.
Bet you can't guess where I chose to buy from

On the other site I got reamed for not supporting capitalism and the American businessman...my head is still spinning!
Anyway, I ordered one from Tactical works (duh!) and have already received shipping conformation...can't wait to install it!

there is a thread about contacting them going now. i have had the best success with an email. i state in the subject that i wish to buy an item. i include my phone number and usually get a call or an email back in a timely fashion. dont do the phone tag game, you will only waste your minutes.

what part of capitalism says that you have to not be a smart shopper? is tactical works not just as american as brownells? part of capitalism is choice isnt it? im just asking so i know if i should start over paying or still shop for bargains and risk being branded anti-everything.

Exactly. They reamed me a new one, almost to the point of calling me 'un-American' for not paying the extra 25% to help support American jobs and companies - whatever...
Anyway, Tactical works was quick and easy online, and my new trigger is already on it's way!

but your buying a trigger made in america from an american site right? i wonder how they see that as un-anything? had you paid the extra money i would have thought you as un-able to find a better price. i just wonder how brownells and its employees are different than tactical works? either way, glad you got at trigger man

Me too. I like the accutrigger when it works, but I have had enough instances of the sear slipping past the(less than prominent) groove on the trigger and jamming against the accutrigger blade to decide that its not a reliable enough trigger for me.

never had an issue yet. others have and were able to trouble shoot them and get them back 100%. seems a pin will slip out and cause misalignment or the pull weight is set too low. ive never touched mine. a lot of dryfire and 154 live and no issues. so far, lol

I like sub-2lb trigger pull, preferably 1-1/4 to 1-1/2. At the lower setings the Accutrigger has issues...
Anyway, I got the trigger and got it mounted and already shot it. Breaks like glass, and I mean like crystal glass!!! I set the trigger pull high initially, though. I will lower it for the next outing and see how it goes.
BTW, this trigger was designed/sold before the new Savages came out with the bolt release in the trigger guard. Apparently, Fred at SSS has never had to install one in these new rifles or surely he would have come out with an addendum...he already has instructions for cutting out the trigger cage for the accutriggers, which is nothing more than a quick hit with a dremel.
To get this trigger to work on my FCP-k meant MAJOR hacking to the bolt release button and spring retainer/bracket.
If you are familiar with the trigger guard bolt release, then you know what they look like. I don't have before pics but here are the after pics:
Spring retainer/bracket - about 60% of it had to be taken out, including the return spring...

and the button, about 70% gone...

i should have mentioned... you can also get a target accutrigger with a red blade. it adj down to about .5 of a pound i believe. direct fit. i just thougt you didnt like the blade, not wanted a lighter pull. no issues with this version at lighter settings

I don't mind the blade, but don't need it either. There is a lot of side-side play in the triggers I have which is another reason I replaced them. And while crisp for a factory trigger, they don't hold a candle to the SSS trigger. It was worth the 5 hours it took me to install it, lol!
