Gunsmithing SSS Competition trigger issue

I've read the instructions and I've notched where the instructions say to but it's like my trigger is a tad to long because no matter what I do the supplied screw won't fit into the hole because it's just barely too far forward. Anyone else had this issue?

Nm I have the rear step up inside the trigger housing not on top of the lip. The instructions didn't state either way. I had it right the first time I installed it but it just didn't look right
