Build an AW in 223 with the associated magazines? Or better yet use the 308 as a base, caliber change kit to 223 bolt head, with AW 223 magazine

How about one in 30-06 (or that length to include 280, 25-06, 338-o6 etc)?

Can you change the bolt head out from a 308 onto a 338 bolt....end up with a franken rifle in 30-06 using modified 300WM magazines????

You are asking a couple of "pointy" ?'s there but here goes with the "BEST" answers I can offer at the moment:

1. I stand on the 5th, but note the 5.56mm mags are not for the AW but for the AICS, which operates within the "AE"......

2. NO

3. NO, the short action rifles are a 3 lug design and the long action magnums are 6 lugs, so that would be a no go for all purposes.
