stainless media

Re: stainless media

Well first of all it would take maybe 15 to 20 pounds ,maybe more of the media two make the vibratory cleaner function. The weight of the media would be to much for the vibratory cleaner .Arnie

Re: stainless media

Your assumption is correct. It must be done in a rotary tumbler to work properly.

FWIW, I recently tried the stainless media and rotary tumbler for the first time. In the past I've always used a vibratory tumbler and walnut type media.

I can say without any doubt... I will never go back to the old way again!! Stainless tumbling is just awesome if you like really clean/shiny cases inside and out. Miles better than a vibratory tumbler and dusty media.

Re: stainless media

A couple friend of mine use this stuff and it is fantstic if you want your brass to look new/unfired, I have the ultrasonic cleaner and whil a bit faster process does not achieve 100% of carbon removal like the SS media does, more like 95%.

Re: stainless media

I use a tumbler too, but does it thin the walls of the brass out? Clean is good but would it seem to tend to remove the outer areas of the brass more readilly?

Has anyone micked the wall thickness after stainless media cleaning?

Re: stainless media

I use both the sonic and the tumbler for my cases .The sonic breaks down the carbon to a soft mud like stuff and it only takes an hour in the tumbler to be really clean. Arnie
