Ok. Ive worked up a good load for my 308 700VLS, with factory barrel cut to 20", using RL-15 and 155 A-Max's. Well I was given 500 155 SMKs and need to work up a load for them. My A-Max load is 46.3gr in a WCC 09 case with CCI 200s at 2.815", gets me to 2775fps. I tried the same charge with the SMKs and they didnt shoot well. I shot 250 rounds working up this load and really dont wanna use that many for just a new bullet. Any suggestions on where to start with the new bullet? I really want to stay with RL-15 cause my father and I have pretty much standardized on it for most every caliber we shoot.

That's why I have 30 different kinds of powder. Not always. But a lot of times a different bullet likes a different powder. I only have 2 loads for 308 using RE-15. IMR 4895, IMR 4064 and Varget seem to work better for me.

Have you tried looking up the maker's web site and searching for load data?
