I'm looking to finally get some steel that will hold up to something over 22lr. This site caught my eye.

I was looking at the 1/2 IPSC target with the T1 (a514). Would that hold up to 223, 308, 30-06? I don't want to buy steel and have it not be strong enough to hold up to the punishment.

For sure. 1/2" AR500 plate and you're good to go. 3/8" AR500 works OK, but will eventually deform, then start to curve (bit like a Pringles) and then spall. Targets done once it's spalled (pitted) as that's what causes ricochets. Spend a bit more up front and it will last forever

If it is AR500 it should hold up to 308win at a minimum. Shot M855 at AR500 steel at 30 yds with no penetration (but we did get some nice splash from time to time.)

We have an excellent local steel yard that has plenty of AR400 in the remnant pile. AR500 is hard to come by. I've made a few of my own targets over the years. Not any more. When you get done paying for the steel and cuts your money ahead to buy from LV. Harder steel and less expensive. Not to mention your own labor, time and paint.

+1 for LV steel targets. I bought 3 targets from him a few years ago and they are holding up great. Nice guy to talk to.

I have a pretty decent experience with Big Dog Steel from here on the hide. Targets are fantastic, communication might leave a tad to be desired but nothing that has made me look elsewhere as of yet.

I have targets from Arntzen, LVsteel, and OSU here and they are all quality outstanding work. And hold up just fine!! I like the Arntzen 3 legged stands as they are easy to move and transport.

LV Steel, Hell I just bought two more plate today from Kurt.

He supports the hide and does matches, support him if you can.

Get a hold of OUTBACK on here. Great product's great pricing and he supports a lot of the match's on here. We have shot the shit out of his steel with no problem's.

another vote for bobcat steel. after seeing his target after 3rds from a 50bmg at 100 yds im sold. it bent the steal but it did not break.
