What are the advantages if any of changing my tikka ctr bolt handle to one of the sterk swept back type ones.
Do people change them for any reason other than looks.

I have one. It adds a little bit it terms of faster bolt manipulation, but I’ve found it’s just easier to grab it. The stock Tikka bolt knob/handle is a bit small and I definitely fumble the Sterk a lot less when trying to go fast, just do to its size. I will say I prefer the Sterk pineapple.

Here’s a comparison of the two. The pineapple is actually a lot bigger than you would think. Which is why I like it the most. It gives the size of the swept ball but plenty of grip texture.

Thanks for the replies .
My ctr has the round ball type knob anyway and I was just wondering if the swept back style had any advantages over it.
I also wanted a trg type shroud so went ahead and placed an order for both.

Good choice, you won’t be disappointed. Install is super easy too. Took less than a couple minutes for both.

The swept AI style handle IMHO is one of the best upgrades out there for the Tikka. The longer handle makes it easier to manipulate, and the swept back position of the ball, to me, makes the action feel smoother, since you're pulling the bolt from further behind, decreasing the amount of side load you put on the bolt body, and thereby reducing any potential binding.
