For those of you using STI double stack 1911's (2011), What kind of holster are you using? is there a drop leg holster that you can recommend?

It all depends on which specific model STI you have, but I have had excellent service from Safariland and their 6004 for the STI Tactical 5.0!!!
They offer several different models, including a couple different drop-leg options like the 6004 I mentioned above and the 6005 QR setup. Look here: http://www.safariland.com/DutyGear/duty/dtholsters.aspx
Also, check their "Will Fit" PDF files for more models, etc. They also offer 3-4 models that will work with a light like the Surefire x300 equipped on the pistol.

Perfect timing, I am looking at maybe picking up the STI perfect 10 but need to find a holster situation out first.

None of the above are likely to work for the Perfect 10 because it has: 1) a 6" barrel; and b) a full-length rail/dust cover that extends all the way to the end of the slide. BladeTech will make you a custom-molded unit for it, but you'll need to get with them for specifics. Safariland does NOT make anything for the Perfect 10 that I am aware of.

I've run a safariland and a CR speed comp holsters, for carry (when I feel frisky) or competition that requires more retention I use a Galco Yaqui Slide

Roll your own Kydex!
I don't have any experience with the Drop leg options, but the Blade-tech holsters work OK. The Edge version will hold a 5.0 Tactical.

Blade tech because they make and stock several models for STI.....to include six inch guns.

Which Blade tech? Have any of you found the STI Blade Tech Holsters or Safariland drop leg holsters in stock anywhere? Most are telling me its a 5-7 week wait (including Shooters Connection). Shooters connection does have the drop off set holster in stock, but it looks like it only has tension for retention....

Good catch..you're right. I am very close to deciding between the Perfect 10 and couple of other 10mms. One thing I need to do is investigate specifics a bit more-like best place for leather (or kydex).
