Still in love with Criterion

I had the exact barrel in an XLR Evolution and just loved it! Try 32.6g of Alliant Power Pro 2000 under the 80g ELD-M (former Amax). Mine was running 3440 and sub MOA at 1000!
Sorry went back and checked my log book. 3240 FPS LOL. My memory sucks. My dope was 29 minutes at 1000. Power Pro is a killer powder for the 22-250.
Gotta be nice when you’re favorite is also cost effective and especially convenient. I don’t know that I’ll ever go 100% NSS prefits, but of the four centerfire barrels I have in service now, they provided three...
Still digging Criterion Barrels. Been working with my .308 barrel lately. Here’s 5 shots at 100 yards from this AM. They went .304”.

Switch barrel on Shilen DGR action in MPA BA Lite chassis. Uses small shank prefitted savage barrels. All three of mine are Criterions and all perform at this level.

I am a bit of a barrel nerd. I have come to know the barrel blank makers, the processes and accuracy. Steve and his daughter Stephanie have invested in innovation at Criterion, and kept the overall cost down. They are clearly one of the better blank makers out there today. Not too long ago, they were thought of as third tier, but they make one of the best buttoned rifle blanks out there.
Criterion automatically gets my business as pretty much the only mainstream barrel maker to sell a Howa 1500 barrel nut prefit. And bonus the nut they use the Bighorn nut that uses a common open end/box end wrench instead of a dedicated spanner.
On my shopping list are two of them, one a 223 7 twist to replace the 9 twist factory barrel in one of my 1500s and the other a 7.5 twist 6.5 Creedmoor to replace a 308 that has some miles on it.
