Horribly sad but true story...bought a brand new 300wsm in CZ model 3 last year. Sling swivel broke and rifle came down on some rocks, splitting the forearm from front about 8" back. This rifle is supposed to be a pre 64 model 70. Does anyone know if I can use a b&c stock made for a pre 64 model 70. I have already called CZ, who could only tell me that it was a custom run made in Kalispell, MT. They referred me to the actual maker, who could not provide any help in finding a stock. I would like to put a tactical short action stock on it if possible but don't want to waste 250 bucks if it won't work. Thanks for any help

Re: Stock for CZ 3

Its a short action Montana Rifleman - I think it is referred to as the 99.

As I recall an outfit in Missouri did the factory fit stocks but ran out of them several years ago, and supposedly hasn't built any since.

McMillan, Serengeti, Richards and Great American Gunstock at the very least inlet for these actions.

McMillan had a mess of them on the specials page not long ago, not seeing any there today.

Re: Stock for CZ 3

Thanks for the info fireball. I did find a guy that makes stocks for Serengeti I believe. He will do a HS sporter stock and bed it for 450. I don't know if that's a good deal or not. He does have a very good reputation. I'm leaning towards the synthetic route but I don't know how that will effect the value or if that is even a concern
