Hey everyone I'm needing some help trying to estimate how long my finish rifle will be so I can make sure I got a case to fit it.

I got a choate ultimate sniper stock and win70 long action and I have no idea how long they will be put together I want a30 inch barrel but I might have to go with a 28 inch to get it to fit in a case made for a 49-50 inch rifle.

Does anyone here have a known length on the stock toback of action and action length then I can add my barrel length to that so I know if I got a case that will work or not.

I've have been searching Google with no results.

Thanks everyone

Re: stock/gun length

Forgot to add they are at the gunsmiths that's y I don't just measure them myself and its very hard to get a hold of him to ask as he is on vacation for a Cpl weeks

Soft or hard case?</div></div>

And I will have no brake on it

That does help to know thank you

Re: stock/gun length

Here is what I have got to fit in a Pelican 1750:
27inch barreled with brake (had less than an inch of space). Has a McMillan A-5 with 14 inch LOP.
28inch barreled without brake (had one inch of space). Has an AICS with all the spacers in.

Here is what will not fit in a Pelican 1750:
30inch barreled with brake. Was not even close to fitting.
30inch barreled without brake. This rifle actually had a Choate Tactical stock on it. Hung over by about a 1/4 of an inch.

So. I don't think you'll get a 30 inch tube in a Pelican 1750 (which I consider the standard for cases). But you may, depending on the LOP and action.

BUT, Cabelas makes a Heavy Duty "Bulletproof" case. And it is very nice. I believe it is made by Kalispell, but I may be wrong with that. That was the longest case I've ever owned and it held my 30 inch with brake rifle. Cabelas Bulletproof Case

All that being said, after much ado, I have left the realm of the long barreled rifle. If it can't be done in 20 inches or under, its not for me. Its just too much hassle. Hope the links help.
