Just purchased a lightly used Remington Sendero SF II in .264 Win Mag. Low round count but it came from Texas and has a professional Texas Brush Country Camo job on it. For the hills and prairies of South Dakota it just won't do. I was going to get it duracoated but then thought there may be other neat options out there. I bought this rifle more for a field gun rather than an ultra-precision stationary rifle so I wouldn't mind looking at some lighter options as well. I don't mind humping around an 11 pound gun but if there are quality options out there to avoid it, I wouldn't complain. Thank you all in advance for your input.

if your only issue is the paint on the stock, then you could always just re-paint in yourself. grab some krylon and go for it. im assuming it came with the hs precision stock that they normally come with, that should work fine for what youre talking about. why spend the extra money unless there was something specific you already had in mind. and as far as weight, the stock doesnt weigh a whole lot. if you wanted a really light rifle for hauling around you would probably have to go with something with a little lighter contour barrel. that being said, manners has a pretty cool ultra-light stock option you could look into

Yep, has the original H-S stock. I was planning on repainting but thought there might be something with a little less bulk out there. Don't have anything in mind just curious what's out there, hence my post here.

Another option is the McMillan HTG stock. I got one here on the hide, textured A1 style, standard fill. It is light and shoulders just like a sporter rifle. The forend is a smaller profile than the HS precision and it just feels right for shooting offhand. There is a buy going on here: https://www.24hourcampfire.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=22 so you can get one custom built with pillars, sling swivels, texture, color etc.

I was talking to Rick and he said theres a 25 week wait for a McMillan at the moment...ridiculous.
