    A rifle we built a few years ago was stolen sometime last night/this morning. This took place in The Dallas Metro area of Highland Park in Texas. The police have been notified, and the S/N is now registered in the NCIC database.

    Description:
    • American Rifle Company Mausingfield action, SN: M5E1-SR-00621
    • Manners EH-5A rifle stock
    • Proof Sendero contour barrel in 6.5mm caliber, chambered in 6.5WSM
    • LRI Hunter DBM floormetal
    • Finished in a digital woodland variant style camo on the stock
    • LRI logo and woodpecker stenciled on the R side of the stock

    well that sucks, hopefully it's recovered in the same shape. stolen out of someone's home?
     
    the thumbhole stock is a little unique so hopefully it will be a little easier to find.
     
    Goes in the room, hopefully he didn't have a can with it. That part would suck.

    Bet it starts like.... Just a few more days and I will be heading to XYZ for my dream hunt of a lifetime. Can't wait to take an oxilope with my awesome custom rifle.

    My brother lives in PA. He was visiting and asked me if he could borrow a rifle for deer hunting. I offered one of my 308's or a 243 and he said, ain't ya gotta 30-30?

    I hope that the fact it is on gunbroker is lucky for the owner. I would think the ffl would have a good incentive to give it back since he bought a stolen rifle.

    I wonder where the scope went?

    You was wondering the same thing but do we even know if one was on it when it got jacked?

    Several years ago, I had two handguns stolen when my house was broken into. Fast forward 10 years. I get a call from state police. One had been recovered. Seems a guy had bought at a gun store shortly after it was stolen. He had owned it for years not knowing it was stolen. His kid had it and was found on a traffic stop. Kid went to jail for possession of stolen property. But charges were dropped aftwards because no one checked the serial number until that traffic stop. No one realized it was stolen and they thought they had bought a legit gun.

    Insurance had paid but I was able to reimburse the insurance company and that gun is in my safe today.

    Hope the OP can have a similar good outcome.

    I’m not sure really what they did wrong but I don’t have an FFL either. How would the dealer know it was stolen? Face to face sales with no checks are legal in Texas. It was registered as stolen in NCIC but would assume the seller can’t cross check.

    Wowzers.... Great work guys.... I have had a few guns stolen a while back when the house robbed.. Took 2 years but got all but the revolver back.. seems the inventory storage at Metro Ate it and it was never found... It was like the Hotel California... it was checked but never checked out... Cops supposedly lost it.. 38 snub nose.. easy carry for an officer or a toss gun.. who knows.

    Looks like OP will get his stuff back and if the GunBroker sell is legit he will have all the contact info from the seller so this should get interesting...Me thinks they find a bunch of stuff at this guys house.

    Hope its not as deep as this seller buying stolen stuff though.. thats NOT cool.

    NCIC checks are restricted to law enforcement and access only for authorized purposes.

    Glad this was found. My wife's pistol got stolen, (She left her purse in a dressing room for about 30 min in the mall) but we did finally get it back. Even still had the laser on it. Pretty sure whoever did it saw the police come into the store and ditched it in a trash can in the men's bathroom (to try and throw em off) same day it was taken. It was several months before we could finally get it back from the cops but glad to have it back

    That one time posting the serial number got that ass, lol. Dealer is fixing to have a AFT visit.
