do you mean "would it hide the flash just as well"?
or do you mean "would it be completely useless"?

I've been wrong before, but you could come across a different thread pattern. Probably depends if you're talking about a Creedmore or a Grendel.

6.5 hole is bigger than a .223 hole,,,,,,so yeah it will screw on and allow the smaller bullet to pass......
