strap-on cheek pad in urban camo ?

Re: strap-on cheek pad in urban camo ?

Ha-ha you said strap-on!

In my vast internet searches I have never seen Urban Camo stock pack, I bet Eagle would make you one, but at considerable exspense, I would just get a black one and paint it, expoxy will flake alittle but I bet you could get it close enough for Government Work.

Urban camo is pretty broad, what qualifies in your definition? </div></div>

I'd like to have something along the lines of Eagle's pattern for woodland camo, but in light gray / dark gray / black.

Or maybe something like what's shown on this McMillan stock:

Re: strap-on cheek pad in urban camo ?

You could probably get somebody to make you one (Eagle or perhaps one of the custom gear folks here on the board), but the trouble will be finding the fabric. I suppose you could try buying some from overseas. The Polish use an Urban Flecktarn that is similar to what you are talking about. Look here and see if these folks can hook you up with some fabric, etc.:

eBay may be another source.

i have found that when you want custom gear with special colors, it's a lot easier to just buy some of what you want...and then when you request someone to make it in custom colors, send them the amount of material you need.

I bought 10yds of 3 color desert 1000d codura so i can start making my own stuff...prices for custom work is usually out of my price range.

There's my custom shop.

1000d and webbing are a lot easier to sew through than multiple layers of denim. my $80 singer handles 2 layers of webbing, 2 layers of 1000d and 1/4" closed cell foam with no problem.

Most guys I have spoken with who have done that for any amount of time have destroyed the machine. Not saying you will, because I have no clue what kind of volume you do. I was doing fine with a couple layers of 1000D and edge binding on my Brother home machine. When I started spending several hours a day on it I could HEAR the machine strain. That's when I decided the extra couple bucks for an Industrial was well worth it. My Union Special will run as many layers as I can stack under the presser foot. If I keep a sharp needle in it, it doesn't even slow down.

You may be able to grunt along with a home machine if you are judicious with your designs and patient when hand-wheeling is required. Once you use an industrial machine you will wonder why you ever messed with the home machine.

BTW, they don't have to be expensive. I picked my Union Special up for $80 including power table and spent $20 on parts (foot and bobbin case) to get it running. Keep an eye on craig's list.
