I have a stuck case, used search function so thats no problem.
My problem is that me being an impatient 2yard tard, I tried to remove the case from the top (you need not say anything about my stupidity), I am pretty sure the expander has been destroyed. Its a Redding .223 sizer, I am having difficulties finding just the expander replacement part. Iam I SOL and just need to go buy a new sizer?

Re: STUCK CASE!!! ARGH

If you call Redding they will happily send you another at no charge. I did the same thing, then when I aw I had wrecked it, well, then I really wrecked it.:D I even explained this to them and they sent me a new one, no sweat.

Re: STUCK CASE!!! ARGH

How long did you wait from lube to dies? This is a patience time frame period. I hit it with Franklin Lube set my watch timer and wait 10 minutes. Then I do one case to see how it feels. If feels ok and is not getting that stuck feeling than go for it. If it is difficult lube a little more and wait. I have done what you did a couple of times while reloading and what I find is that I am rushing the process and not in tune with that stuck feeling. If you think it is too hard to push then you are going to have issues. Step back and do the process again. Better to work slow then get that all annoying stuck case.

Carbide is unnecessary.

Get yourself a 1/4-20 tap, a few bolts of varying lengths, a pile of washers and a small piece of pipe (1/4" pipe or 3/8").

Drill and tap the brass and use the pipe/washers like a puller. make sure you have good thread engagement or you will rip the threads from the brass.

it will come out easily this way and it won't destroy your expander. You will never get the stuck case out from beating on the expander...don't ask how I know.

The only way to pull a case is from the bottom. Do it my way and you will not damage anything else and you'll be back to loading in no time.
