White Oak barrel, low profile gas block. The fit was very tight, so I stupidly heated the gas block. It went right on until it stuck in the wrong place. I can't get it off and am afraid of overheating the barrel by heating the block too much.

Can I safely continue to heat until it comes off? Will that approach even work? Should I just try to cut it off and start over?

They get pretty hot when you shoot them. You should be able to put quite a bit of heat to it without damage. That being said, is it worth the chance? Cut it off and start with a new one and fit it before you force it.
