Ok I'm going to open myself up to the ridicule of the hide but am hoping to come away with better knowledge and information nonetheless.

If I'm shooting at a given yardage and say I have to hold off 4 MOA high, with the second line mark on my Nightforce NPR2 Reticle. Which is true MOA. Shouldn't I be able to go 16 clicks up, at 1/4 MOA each click, adjustment and be able to hold on the cross hairs?

Re: Stupid Question Regarding MOA Reticle

I think I was brainfarting at the time and was only giving 4 clicks per line instead of 8. All the time knowing that the lines where 2 MOA. Ok one more stupid question. It wouldn't matter what yardage I'm shooting?

Re: Stupid Question Regarding MOA Reticle

Not at all. If you know the bullet drop in the format you use (MOA / MIL) you can hold or dial. It doesn't matter. Once again using correct power or compensation.

Re: Stupid Question Regarding MOA Reticle

But for arguments sake... I would at least dial one correction, most commonly elevation. The wind you can then use your reticle to hold, or dial it as well if you so choose. Accuracy will likely fall if you are holding for both. These are relatively common questions... a search will likely pull this info up... or one better, sign up for the online training here. It will help with these questions and others I can't begin to claim proficiency in.
