Has anyone tried an aftermarket stainless barrel for any of the sub compact glocks? I'm debating on one for my G27. Conventional, lead friendly rifling...

Re: Sub-Compact Glock Barrels

Spoke yesterday to a mfg of certain Glock parts, who stated that MANY aftermarket barrels are badly out of spec, due to lazy machinists, who, despite hourly pay, want to skip steps.
This can lead to fractured locking blocks.

Re: Sub-Compact Glock Barrels

Thanks for the tip 427- Do either KKM or Bar-Sto make barrels requiring fitting? The pistol is a carry pistol, so I'm not sure that I'd want something shoe-horned in.

Re: Sub-Compact Glock Barrels

Okay looks like Bar-sto has match (fitting required) and semi-drop in @ $205
KKM are drop-in only and $165.

Bar-Sto are cut rifling, KKM are button rifled.

Thoughts?

Thanks for your helpful input....

Guess getting a little more accuracy with the main objective being the ability to shoot much much cheaper lead bullets is simply retarded huh?

No, they don't... but they do add up separately. And since I never implied the motivating reason being accuracy... but DID mention the desire to shoot lead... Well, you do the math

Re: Sub-Compact Glock Barrels

yeah cut barrels are what you want for lead....but for the love of baby jesus i have NEVER seen anyone shoot....wait never mind.......i just re-read the post....yeah go for the aftermarket cut barrel......

my bad

Re: Sub-Compact Glock Barrels

I like the KKM barrels. I had a few LWD barrels and had issues with them. My KKM barrels have not had any issues. On another note, I have shot lead with my stock barrel without any problems. They don't recommend it but it happens. Maybe had to clean the barrel a little more than usual but still have not had any issues.

As for accuracy, I cannot say that I noticed a difference between stock and aftermarket.

Yeah I usually shoot 200+ rounds at a time, and the lead build-up makes me a bit uneasy. I'd rather buy the barrel just to stay on the safe side... but I know what you're saying- 1 lead bullet does not = destroyed glock barrel

Re: Sub-Compact Glock Barrels

nope- no NFA or AOW weapons in the state of michigan unless curio and relic.

Forgot to mention that I had swapped this over to .357 and sold my .40 barrel a while ago. Big mistake, .357 is too damned hard to get and too expensive. So it's not just a matter of upgrading... I need a new barrel no matter what to be able to shoot .40 again in it.

Do yourself and family a favor and move the fuck out of Michigan, I did and proud of it, I pay less taxes, can and do have fun toys, my only grip is I don't like the way TEXAS Deer taste v Michigan, other than that Michigan is run by tax increasing retard Democrates who only want more money and give less freedoms in return.

+1

I agree on all of that, and one day I may very well move out of this state.

..

You've already gotten great advice from the right folks. In your case your barrel will need to be at least semi fit so find somebody talented to get it right the first time.
