Suppressors Suggestion for .510 Whisper projectiles?

Like I said, with that kind of weight, expansion is not as important. With a 750 A-Max you are talking about nearly 1800 lb ft of energy. When that hits something solid, it's going down, expansion or not. My GF's daughter hit her first deer with a 300 whisper. 125 yards with a 240smk. 1 shot to the neck nd it dropped like a rock. It's all about the energy.

Re: Suggestion for .510 Whisper projectiles?

My gun is an older SSK .500 Whisper.

I am having good results with the Hoch 512 650 BPCR mould.
36gr of RL-7.

Also the Lee .515-500-F is good and the mould is much less expensive.
Again, 36gr of RL-7.

I am casting them fairly hard so I don't know how they might work (expand) but they do down the barrel clean.

These work well in the 50 Alaskan too.

I use surplus, amax, and cast (NEI 800 and CBE 975) in my suppressed 510 whisper Encore. What kind of accuracy are you guys getting with cast. Does it gunk up your suppressor much?

That is what I thought. I am about ready to stop using them through my can, the cast bullet are responsible for some baffle strikes. I have had to repair dents in baffles and the end cap twice.

Re: Suggestion for .510 Whisper projectiles?

Fairly typical 100yd accruacy with the Hoch Mould, a hair over 1100fps. Some times I can shoot a little better, rairly any worse.

Jacketed accuracy is much better but then you can't beat the price of these cast bullets.

Glad of it. Just passing on a deal to someone else.
