I have recently purchased a Remington 700 5R in .308, as of right now the place I shoot is a max of 500 yards and ,and I had a couple of questions. what is/are the best Scope base and Ring setups? I think that I would only want to purchase these once, I probably don't need top of the line but I would want something that I could mount a nice scope on and not have to worry about having cheap base/rings. And also I am looking for a decent scope I don't want to spend USO,Nightforce type money (yet). I think that I am set on a FFP, was looking at the Falcon Menace but I am unsure about their reliability. I think I am leaning more towards the Vortex Viper Pst. has anyone heard anything about these scopes? from what I have read they have outstanding customer service and their scopes carry lifetime warranty.
