The ZCO doesn't need a sunshade, it is the black hole of the optical world and sucks in all light without letting any out. In all seriousness I think Nick shared the thread pattern in another thread and someone had figured out another brand that worked, but that may just be from the many dreams of high end optics I've had

I want it to keep rain off the glass, not for light.
That's an over seas scope they can afford to give u all the bells and whistles. Plus it dont compare to a ZCO. I think they did that to keep the price point lower and considering the scope package you're getting alot for your money. So they leave the caps and shade out. 200bux big deal...Maybe u want different caps or dont want a shade and want a honey comb... more options and you're not stuck with the initial cost of what you get with the scope. One way or another you're paying for it.
A lot of lesser quality scope come with sunshades. Just sayin'
ZCO 527 uses uncommon 60mm thread pitch so you can get an adapter to use other sunshades with more common thread pitches.
