Does anyone have any experience with the Wiley X Guard sunglasses? After 8 years, I broke my current pair and I am in the market so recommendations would be welcome.

Thanks

Re: Sunglasses

I broke 2 pair of Oakleys, out of warranty, and I'm now using a pair of Browning Safari. Who would have thought that a pair of $65 sunglasses would be so good.

Lee.

I thought Oakleys warranty was lifetime.... Maybe I'm wrong. I have 2 pair of Oakleys and have sent them in once each due to scratched lenses and loose ear pieces and recieved brand a new pair both times....

They do.. Spy's are only a year, but if you tell them you lost the receipt they make you pay 30 bux or something to fix em. I buy all my sunglasses off of whiskeymalitia or steapandcheap. Only way to buy sunglasses if you have a little time to wait for something to come up.

I have had several pairs of Costa del mar's. The last had 580 copper lenses. I absolutely loved them. Unfortunately, they got chewed beyond repair by my dog, learned my lesson. I also have a pair of Oakley Flak Jakcets with the xlj lenses. I like them, but no where near how much I liked the Costas. It will not be long before I have another pair of Costas.

Re: Sunglasses

On any given day I grab one of the following:

Oakley Canteen
ESS Crossbow
Revision Hellfly

I have been using the Hellfly a lot lately because they are the Photochromic model and the lenses always seen to be at the right tint level for the ambient light. The only drawback is they don't clear out quick enough when going indoors.

All three manufacturers offer LE/Mil discounts if you know where to look for their programs.

Re: Sunglasses

I absolutely love my Maui Jims, just not the price. I lost them off my boat, and didn't hesitate to go out and buy another pair to replace them. They are that good to me.

Re: Sunglasses

Off the range I'm a huge fan of both Maui Jim and Oakley, more MJ in recent years.

However on the range I recently picked up a set of the Oakley S.I. Ballistic 2.0 M frames with 3 different lens. Smoke, Clear, and their VR28. The VR28 is badass, works great indoor and outdoor. Kind of like amber but way better. Also comes with a really nice case that holds all three lenses and cleaning supplies. Case has a clip to attach it to your field bag/backpack.

The Oakleys are design to take a shotgun blast directly to the lens and not shatter.
