Just so members here are aware, I went to open a checking account for my little gun business with SunTrust yesterday. I was told to my surprise they would not open an account with a firearms related business at all at first, and then not without pre-approval. I heard the manager mention something called “AML”. I googled it while he was on the phone and the other half of that acronym is “CFT”. They stand for “anti-money laundering” and “combatting financing of terrorism”. They apparently monitor every transaction you make.
The guy was very eager to try to get the “administrative pre-approval” so I could get the account open. I told him I didn’t want to bank with a company that didn’t support the second amendment. Nice to know I’m viewed as a potential terrorist. Hard to believe what’s going on today.
