super performance powder

Re: super performance powder

I tried some in my 6x47. I only tried one load and all I can say is that superformance loads are heavier than traditional powders. With the exact same amount of 4350 i was 300fps faster. The new hornady handbook has some loads and they are pretty heavy if I remember correctly. I will post more info when I get something worth writing about.

Re: super performance powder

I got to looking at where the Leverevolution powder falls on the Burn Rate Chart and it says its one step slower than BL-C(2). Makes me wonder how it will work in the 308.

Goto hodgdon's web site. They have a free online reloading data center. I use it a lot.

Re: super performance powder

I bought some when it first became available and haven't loaded any yet, mostly because this powder is not recommended for 308. I might just sell it since 308 is occupying most of my loading efforts right now. Would like to know if anyone has any notable results with 308, but otherwise may get rid of this powder.

Re: super performance powder

If it is not recommended for 308 why does hornady load factory 308 with superformance? Not being smart just looking for why it is not recommended. Burnrate?
