I have an LR308 that I'm going to run suppressed. It is the 18" bull barrel. I don't want to run an adjustable gas block because, I'd like to put a low profile gas block and a Daniel Defense 12lite rail out over the block. What are my other options for parts should I change on it? Thanks for the help.

Re: suppressed lr308

Heavy buffer HERE. I run an factory AR10T carbine supressed with no problems, I just wipe the bolt/lightly oil about every 20rds. But I only use it as my truck gun so it dose not see a alot of action.

Re: suppressed lr308

I ran my LR308 suppressed with a David Tubbs carrier weight and flat wire mainspring and the standard buffer and ran great. You can find them at Midway USA.

Re: suppressed lr308

Just ran across this thread- How does adding the suppressor to the semi auto effect gas / powder out the ejection port? I am a lefty and have a Omega 30 can for my bolt Rem 700. I would like semi-auto capability with the same can. I have a Spr. Arm. Squad Scout but I gather that I need to do this on the AR-10 platform. That is fine as the top rail fits better with my optics plans - NV later on. That said, how does going piston operated impact the lefty shooter?
Thanks

Re: suppressed lr308

There are low profile adjustable gas blocks out there. If you keep it subsonic only, you dont have to worry about getting to the adjustment valve and it will fit under your handguard. My handguard has an access hole above the valve so I can adjust accordingly.

TxCowDoc, adding a supressor does make everything dirty, but not to the point of being a problem. I have never had anything blown back in my face. Also, half of keeping an accurate gas gun accurate is keeping the action very clean. I very diligent there. Going gas piston doesnt seem to be any cleaner.
