Suppressors Suppressor and Recoil on 10.5" system

Re: Suppressor and Recoil on 10.5" system

Can lessons recoil on my 11.5". They get dirty very quick depending, powder an pressure your running.

Re: Suppressor and Recoil on 10.5" system

No, it doesn't. If anything, it helps minimize muzzle flip. Definitely keep that bolt lubed though. I've switched lubes from Slip 2000 to Machine Gunner's Lube by Tactical Springs because Slip is water-based and tends to burn off faster. It also evaporates off over time so if you're using a suppressed SBR as a HD rifle, you need re-lube more frequently.

Less straight back recoil but you feel a little more of the shockwave. And they do get dirty fast. Good advice from the guys to keep it lubed. I run a piston and I still put some lube on it. (PWS 10.5 W/ YHM 556 QD)

Re: Suppressor and Recoil on 10.5" system

Recoil should be less with the exception of whatever velocity is added to the BCG.
That should be minimal though if your switch block is setup for your SBR setup.

I consider the use of synthetic lubricants such as Slip 2000 EWL or Mobil-1 10W-30 used liberally on the BCG to be essential when running a suppressor on an AR.
FWIW, DI or GP have similar amounts of fouling when using a suppressor.

Best route to go, noise is a little more, but not much.

That's good to hear! I've not really got the funding for yet another tax stamp so an SBR specific can is going to have to wait a while.

My 762 can on the other hand is a quick disconnect so I can throw it on the SBR once I have it no problem. Granted it's quite a bit bulkier than a m4 specific can, but beggars can't be choosers
