What is the ideal barrel length for a suppressed 308. Bare in mind that I still want to maintain maximum range, hopefully 1000 yards. Right now I have a barrel that is 26". Seems a bit long for a can. I was thinking 22-24".

Opinions and experience?..........

Re: Suppressor Barrel Length

i was woundering the same deal about barrel length. wanting to have a GAP build on a Badger m2008. thinking if im going to spend the funds, might as well go all out with an extra barrel thats shorter for a suppressor. was hopeing to find some help.

18" or 20"? what does a factory Rem barrel NOT have, that a hand lap SS does? why drop your bullet weight from 175's to 155's? im sure that question might be in another thread:)jusy wanting to make the most informed choice i can! thank you for any help you can give.

Re: Suppressor Barrel Length

I've got a 308, 1/10 twist, 18" M2008 badger build on the way from APA. That was their recommendation for suppressed, though I was more interested in an accurate and compact piece than competing out to 1k. I've got no regrets whatsoever about going that route.
