Suppressors Suppressor for 300wm

Re: Suppressor for 300wm

Pros: Recoil reduction, less rifle hop better follow-up shots, noise reduction/hearing protection, and the chicks dig it. You make friends on the shooting line instead of enemies.
Cons: A little ding to your wallet; some have changes in POI. Barrel needs to be threaded to accomodate suppressor. Need to learn your state laws on what can & can't be hunted with can. 1+ on Tigershark.

I just got my first can a few months ago for my .308. I've heard all about the recoil reduction a can gives you, but I personally can't notice any reduction in recoil.

On a .308 it doesn't matter, but a 300WM, if your used to shooting it braked, might hit harder with a can...

I dunno though, just my ass-umption...

Does hit harder with a can, as opposed to an FTE. Still not as bad as nothing but a crown on the muzzle.

Re: Suppressor for 300wm

Pro
Reduction in sound
Reduction in perceived recoil
Shooting without hearing protection is great!

Con
Cost for the can
Cost plus temporary relocation of the rifle for the barrel threading
The cost (ATF $200)
The Wait (ATF)

What can did you get? I have brakes and can and even on my .308 there is a huge difference between can & brake in recoil reduction.

I have an SAS can that threads on to a muzzle brake attachment. I love the can, don't regret buying it, and also plan on buying another one. I'm just saying, the recoil reduction isn't all that I thought it would be.

+1 on the the Shark suppressors BTW... They might be expensive, but the one I saw in action was impressive.

Re: Suppressor for 300wm

I have a suppressed AI 300WM. Im using an AAC 300SD, it was one of the last runs they made of them before deciding to redesign them. Excellent can but there are reasons why they are redesigning them....

I also have a 300WSM that is suppressed using a Quicksilver Manufacturing suppressor. It is a heavy can but the noise level reduction is amazing and the POI is minimal. I highly recommend QSM!

+1 for Shark. David is GTG.

As for multi-platform, David has a 'modular' version of the Shark/Tigershark that he can spin up different thread adapters that work quite well.
