Suppressors suppressor for 6.5/284 and 5.56

Re: suppressor for 6.5/284 and 5.56

i am more worried about weight and performance than the price. i figure that means titanium which from what i can tell will be expensive. i would just as soon spend the money once and get what is needed rather than doing it several times

If you plan on using this can on several platforms I would go quick attach, and then if you run this on a semi auto like an AR I would look for a can that is not Ti.

+1 on both of those

Ti is great until a certain temp is reached where it can lose strength very fast. Check with BachlorJack. I'm sure he has more info.

I do know it's a temp thing. Bolts should be okay but an AR is an "at your own risk" situation as far as I've been told by the metal gods.

I really wanted and almost got the AWC LSS until I found that out. It was awesome though, a quarter of the wait of the YHM I had at the time, a quarter the size, but sounded twice as good on my rifle. I was pretty hurt when I found that out.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the AAC 7.62SD or Cyclone. I'm still running numbers but am about to pull the trigger on a 7.62SD. I hear the AAC SCAR-H is real quiet but they stopped producing them for civies due to a military contract. My local dealer has one but it's kind of out of my price range and I need a can that will work for my AR's.

This is my setup. The 7.62SD is one of the lightest non Ti cans out there for .30 cal and works great on AR's for this reason. Hell its even lighter than some 5.56 cans.

Ya they are an excellent quality product. Quiet, light weight, durable.

I'm very satisfied with the Gemtech HVT-QD. I have a bi-lock on my 308 tactical rifle and a QD flash hider on my AR-15. The extra bucks spent on the quick detatch was worth it as the point of impact shift is repeated every time I put it on my rifle. My suppressor was $800.00 and Gemtech's customer service is second to none. I'm not saying that it's better than the Shark or Thunderbeast as I've never been able to compare side by side... but I'd love to.
