Let me appologize in advance if I missed it in the forums, but I couldn't find any threads with application info. I am interested in purchasing a suppressor for my AR but have no idea what to do. I've been here trying to figure out what forms were needed. I also visited Major Malfunction but their buying process link is down. I give up! Could someone please point me in the right direction? P.S. I know google and the hide search engine are my friends, I've been searching for the last hour.

Just call Bryon @ major malfunction. He'll give you all the info you need. Bryon can also set you up with a trust if you buy a can from him.

GREAT guy!!!

Re: Suppressor....How do I get one?

4 easy steps.

1. Decide which can you want and find it IN STOCK some where.
2. Buy the can.
3. Wait for the can to transfer to your local class III dealer. Usually 30-45 days.
4. When it shows up @ your dealer, let him fill out your paperwork.

If you're doing a trust, wait 3 months and enjoy. If you go the individual route, you need to add one more step.

5. Get your chief LEO to sign off on they paperwork for you to own a can.

Then wait 3 months. But seriously, get ahold of Bryon.

Purchase first..... yes. Once you purchase it, it gets transferred to your class III dealer. He holds onto it until the BATFE clears your paperwork.

If you can't get your CLEO to sign off, you either need to go the trust route or find another buyer to get you out from under it.

Re: Suppressor....How do I get one?

Run an AAC 7.62 SD with their new 51 tooth mount. It'll work great on your ar & you can run your big guns on it later. As long as the barrel is over 24", its magnum rated. Will handle the 223, 243, 260, 7mm RM, 308, 300 wm just fine.

Make sure of your barrel length if you're running it on magnums. I don't suggest running a 223 specific can though. You'll always want to suppress something bigger later on.

They make muzzle brakes that are threaded 1/2x28 (ar15) and 5/8x24 (standard 308 & ar10). The brakes are VERY effective quality units that you can use when not running the can. Get you're can purchased and your paperwork started and enjoy.
