just got my 7.62 YHM phantom...had my savage threaded by GA precision and quick dectach mounted...shot about 10 rds some match 168gr and som 170 subsonic TTI...looking down the spressor there are no marks on the ends but I can see a line where it appears a bullets actually touched...ive shot three mores rounds after noticing this....ahould I be concerned

Easy enough to take the bolt out and look down the bore to check alignment. You will see a circle that is the chamber of the barrel, a smaller circle perfectly centered in the larger circle which is the bore exit, if you see any shadow of the silencer at all then that is a problem. In the subsonic bullet that heavy you should have a 1/10 twist rifle, if you have a 1/12 twist rifle I would suggest 150gr flat base bullets. If your bullets are touching your silencer your group sizes will be terrible.

Some of the yhm phantoms actually look goofy when you look through them with the naked eye. Mine looks like I hit it also but after checking it with a borescope, its just how its machined.

How is the accuracy with the can on?

yeah I kinda sounded like an idiot...I know if the bullets continue touching its not right...I removed the bolt eyeballed everything and it looks dead center...Im not sure why the marks...I did go w a 1 in 10 (savage) to be sure with the heavier bullets...

I shot a decent group but was mainly just checking the sound...mine looks like about three places have a small "bur" on them...is that what yours looks like? thanks for all the quick responses

Yup, Looks like a burr on mine as well. At least on mine its a machining mark the way the baffles were cut. When you look at it with a borescope its just a thicker spot on the baffle which when looking through the can makes it look like a deformed spot due to a strike.

cant thank you enough for the quick response...I will sleep better tonight.....wonder why its machined that way
anyhow thanks again

Over on Silencer Talk, that question is asked more than "Which scope is better?" over here. Sleep peacefully
