Are there any benefits to going with a 1.75” od can instead of what seems to be the most common 1.5”? Would a 1.75” x 8” can be noticeably quieter compared to a 1.5” x 8” can of the same make? I understand the larger can will be 3-4 oz heavier. Use would be on .308, 6.5, and possibly 300win

If based on the same baffle design and optimized the same way, the larger can will almost always be quieter. It is possible to screw this up if R&D wasn't done right, though.
