My x-mas presents are pretty disappointing after seeing that arrangement... Nice collection... A can for a 338Lapua is my next need/want...

    Re: SUPPRESSORS for every cal.

Well, there goes my Chrismas. I just made payment on an AAC 7.62sd from my dealer. I have a 22lr one on the way. Won't see either of them for some time I am sure.

    Hi Skinney,

What town are you in or close to? I used to be a C3 dealer in Elk Point and along the Big Sioux outside of Jefferson (both in Union County) when I lived up there from 1998 to 2003.

    Take care,

That is really cool picture. And, also a very nice goal for me too but I don't have near the number of calibers that you do.

    Re: SUPPRESSORS for every cal.

So cool, but what I'd expect from an SOT. I'm halfway there with 6 cans myself. One for every caliber I shoot plus a second one for 223.

You should list off each make in order. is the 4th one down an Ops Inc 3rd in 30 cal?

how do you feel the phanton 762 performs compared to the aac 308 cans gemtecs and swrs ? does it hold its own ?

    Re: SUPPRESSORS for every cal.

i didn't have a great experience with the aac and sound reduction, even though it has twice the baffles, i don't think its that quiet of a can, although it did tighten up my groups, i prefer SRT over them all.

    Re: SUPPRESSORS for every cal.

i like my outback II, have heard good things about the new silencer co's upgraded sparrow.

    Re: SUPPRESSORS for every cal.

    Thanks,
I've emailed them both for pricing and availability.

For my latest LR-308 I am having Krieger thread the muzzle for the Surefire muzzle break adapter. I plan on putting the FA762SS Fast-Attach can on it. When I get it running I will update this forum. I chose the Surefire based on the the comments of my cousin who has been serving in Afghanistan. Tim has had excellent results with this can on his and his buddies rifles. Krieger also recommended the Surefire, so I am giving it a try. Surefire claims zero POI shift with this system.

Have you tried any Surefire cans?

Who threads your barrels? While I have a lathe, I still do not trust myself for barrel work. Knowing my limitations, I am going to a specialist.

    Re: SUPPRESSORS for every cal.

Very nice group you have there. I'm still waiting on transfers for a couple, then I'd have a nice family photo like yours.

    Re: SUPPRESSORS for every cal.

Thanks Skinney,,, I'll get in touch when I get close to order time. Love my SRT as well. Have an HTG aris 4 and like it also but just use in in the dog towns with 223 and 22-250. Just starting a build on a 7mm-300wthrby improved but a custom 338 is also on the list and i don't want one unless it has can on the end.

Skinney, have you had a chance to play with any Thunderbeast cans... Been around a couple of them and I like.. Be nice to hear one beside a SRT.

haven't personally shot a surefire but have heard them, they sound to me like a KAC can, they're alot of money and there's better sound suppression out there, IMHO.

No i haven't, but heard good things, may have to get one to compare.

    Re: SUPPRESSORS for every cal.

    Hello again Skinny,
Another dumb question, I see you have 4 YHM cans, but they did not seem to make your favorites list. Any reason in particular?
I would also like to learn more about getting the barrels threaded, for those that do not come threaded do you send them to the can manufacturer or to a gunsmith?

    Re: SUPPRESSORS for every cal.

I like YHM they are built like a tank, a lil heavy but built very well and good sound suppression, i just prefer the thread on for accuracy, and the yhm cans on my list are QD mods... usually your .224 caliber's from 223 up to the 22-250 you run the 1/2X28 TPI; and the larger cals from say 243 up to the 300 win mag, run the 5/8X24 TPI, and any good smith can spin ur stick and get the threads you need, if you have any other ?'s just shoot me a P.M.

    Re: SUPPRESSORS for every cal.

KYS338, can you describe your 250 build?
I just finished rebarreling a 250 Savage & was contemplating best choice to screw on the end of it.
    Thanks.

    Re: SUPPRESSORS for every cal.

So the thread on suppressors have better accuracy results than the QD muzzlebreak ones?

I was looking at getting a YHM 7.62. Any advice on which model to maintain accuracy and best suppression?

    Re: SUPPRESSORS for every cal.

    I am so jealous.
And so pissed when I think of all the tax monies the BATF gets for us to have this right.

How you like that Elite Iron 416 can?

    TIA. </div></div>
the windtalker is amazing, it makes the 416 recoil about like a 308 boltgun and suppresses it as much as any of my suppressed 308 rifles, i have a couple vids shootin it but workin on some better footage to post, a big plus with this set up is the TD elite iron sent out to have center punch the top dead center so you will have no POI change in windage, only elevation.

thread on is where its at if your goin for accuracy, but the YHM Phantom 762 qd adapters are a nice set up if you wanna run one can on your 223 and 308.
