Just bought my first supressor. I have been told you can't use thin jacket ammo with a can. I am shooting a 18" 1:8 twist .223 ar15. Going to be running nosler 62gr fbhp varmagedon ammo. Just wandering if this would be a suitable set up or do need to swap to a more solid jacket round. This is mainly a coyote set up

Not sure who you heard that from, but I'd consider it BS. The bullet doesn't touch the can (at least we hope not) so WTH does jacket thickness have to do with suppressor use? Please have whoever told you that explain the rationale behind it. It might be good for entertainment purposes.

Now... if you run too light of bullet with too much twist and too much velocity (like for example a 40gr v-max in a 1-7 twist 22-250), it can come apart, which is always a problem, but particularly so when those bullet fragments may tear up an expensive can.
Similar issue if you run too heavy a bullet with not enough twist and not enough velocity. The bullet will not stabilize, and you could get a baffle strike.

In general, if it shoots fine without the can, it will continue to do so with it. The combination you list above sounds just fine, IMO.

That is exactly what I was wandering. I felt like the combo was good and the bullet wouldn't get to enough rpm to separate just wanted some insight from people who have cans. Ive read some other threads where people sais not to use the varmagedon 55 bt. Just dont want any separation. I am currently waiting on my stamp so....

I shoot the 62 gr varmageddon in a 10.3" 1:7 twist mk18 with a can and have never had any issues, hope this helps.

Probably not going to have any issues at 223 velocities with an 8 twist with pretty much any 40-70gr bullet.
I run the 50 v-max in a 1-7 twist 223 @~3000 fps and the 53 v-max in a 1-12 twist 22-250 @~3840 fps. Also shoot the 45gr Winchester white box through the 22-250 at damn near 4000fps. No issues with any of them.
