Does anyone have first hand experience with these breaks? Im looking at on in 7.62 and haven't heard much about them. Any info would be appreciated.

I shot a friends .338 Lapua Mag. a few days ago that was equipped with one and it worked very well.

Thank you for the responses. I just found out that I live right around the corner for Surefire, so went down to their corporate office yesterday to take a gander at all of their neat toys. Their service is top notch and their tech department is really helpful. I picked up a break yesterday for my 700, its going to a smith next week to be installed!

Surefire brakes are loud, expensive, and effective. I think they make the best tactical brake on the market. Some behemoth tank brakes might work better but for practical purposes SF has always worked for me.

I have one mounted on my .300 RCM (basically a 300WSM) and I swear that barrel barely moved. I think the rifle actually recoiled more when I attached the suppressor.
It is an excellent break.

which, the 7.62 brake/adapters? i ordered mine from brownell's earlier in the week and got it yesterday morning.
edit: they still show the 7.62 brake/adapter in stock but looks like the 5.56 and 338 brake/adapters are out of stock.

As of yesterday, I picked up one of the last 2 they had in stock. The sales rep told me they are buried in orders, something like 6 to 8 weeks out!

guess i ordered mine at just the right time. hopefully this one is better quality than the last one i installed. the last one had a lot of runout. if this one is as bad, i won't use them again.

I have one on my 5.56 AR, and it reduces recoil great, but it does give a huge flash signature. All in all, I would buy another one.
