Surgeon Action Marking

I have a couple of Oklahoma made Surgeon actions. The model number and the city and state is engraved on the top of the rail.

Can someone tell me if the actions made in Arizona are also engraved on the top of the rail?

Is there any advantage owning one from Oklahoma, vs a new one from the new company? I’ve always wanted a Surgeon 591 and I would rather buy a used action with an integral rail and lug, vs a new Tenacity, Origin etc, that don’t come with quite as many features..If (when) I I buy a used Surgeon I would prefer it be from Oklahoma for nostalgic reasons..

For historical reasons go with the OK action. For an upgraded action look at Impact actions.

I would love an Impact, but what if I could get a used Surgeon for $900ish vs $1400 for an Impact.. I guess if I’m gonna be blunt, my real question would be what is the difference between an Impact and a Surgeon, they are essentially the same action.. Didn’t mean to mess this thread up

When I look at them, the only similarities I see is they are both actions.

Feel free to expound..Honestly I would be happy with any custom right now, and to choose which one is gonna be a brutal process for me..The sad part is it that a nice action probably won’t help me place any higher in a match..
