Will a Remington action wrench work for a Surgeon action?

I have a Surgeon Switch Barrel on the way (purchased from a friend) and I was wondering if a Remington/Templar Action wrench will work?

If not where does one acquire an Surgeon action wrench?

TIA

I dont think a Surgeon will take any other action wrench that has a rear entry method. Surgeons have a double rail system to guide the bolt inside the raceway (If I recall correctly) and you will have to use the Surgeon Wrench. Also, only use the Surgeon wrench for Surgeon rifles and actions. You dont want to break it taking off a Remington 700 barrel and then not have it for your surgeon.

Yup, Did some reading and spoke with them... pretty action specific for wrenches. There is also a pretty neat difference between Gen I and Gen II actions.

Thanks for the reply's!

A BIG +1 to this. Their wrench will work great for a custom barreled Remington 700, but trying to break factory barrels off with this wrench might leave you without a wrench... don't ask me how I know

because most factory barrels are over torqued by some gorilla at the factory and using this type of wrench will more than likely bend the rails in the action when you are trying to break the barrel free. Where as your custom built rifles are torqued to a reasonable amount and most have anti seize on the threads so they are easier to break free.

+1 I've had to use a sledge hammer on an action wrench to get off a remington factory barreled action. I believe they also use loctite or some other adhesive to lock down their barrels. That's a butcher for you running a production line rather than quality.
