Thanks for the add... Life long resident of Northeastern IL, WAY WAY too close to Chicago. Thankfully my time in the Corps ( 1982-1990) taught me to deal with places like this. Other than .223 training and a lot of pistol rounds downrange, I'm relatively new to the whole long-range shooting experience. Recently acquired a 6.5 creedmore so I have been researching optics and this is how I found Snipers Hide. Hopefully, I can offer some information but I'm sure in the short-range I'll be a sponge. I'm a full-time marketing photographer/videographer 95% of my clients are businesses. Nuf about that. I was an 8 year Rifle and Pistol Expert in the Corp. Back when the M-16's all had iron sights. I learned well and repeated what the Gunny instructed and learned to control my breathing. I hope to try that out again soon. Hard to find a 500 yard range this close to the anus of the demorat party.

Welcome brother. I feel your pain. Got out of the Corps and moved back to my home state of CA..... had to leave because of the socialist agenda there. Now I’m in the great state of Texas lol, there’s eveything you will need and want to know within this forum related to long range shooting. What 6.5 did you get?

Welcome to the hide JarHead61. If you don't mind the drive, there is a range in Wabash IN with 700 yards or you can join precision rifle matches in IL and WI to shoot up to 600-1200yards.

Semper Fi Brother. Oh yeah the Caliwackjobs are something else. I have a new Savage 110 boltaction in 6.5. I just made a decision on a scope. Picked up a Vortex Vipor HS 6-24x50 Looking forward to joining the two together and start working the tight groups at 100, 200, and 300 yards. I'm going to deer hunt with it this year since I'm shooting in Wisconsin, I not limited to shotguns only. Gonna reach out and touch "someone" HA HA. Thanks for reaching out. Stay well !

Thanks for the information. That's about a 3.5 hour drive, not too bad. I do have other things that take me in that direction. I'm guess your talking about Bass and Bucks?
I do have a cutomer with a farm about 45 minutes from me that can get out to 400 yrds right now. All make shift targets, and no shooting bench or shade cover so very rustic but hey it beats the 75 foot range at the gun club.
