Range Report SWA 175g SMK speed?

Has anyone done a chrono on these from a Savage 10 .308 with 24" barrel? I'm guessing around 2650 or so but want to be sure.

I was getting 2550 out od a 20" barrel.

I believe there is ballistic programs that will give you velocity info based in impact drop.


Keep in mind that what ever someone quotes you will be different than what you actually get...enough to make scope adjustment moot.

Not a Savage, but my 24" Remmy shoots them a smidge over 2,650 fps

In a 24 inch GAP, Bartlein Barrel... I was getting just over 2700. It was a fast barrel.

I would guess around 2650 for you. Gather some data at distance and record conditions (mainly DA). With that info use can use any of several calcs to get a solid velocity.
