Hi All,
Reloading noob here. I have a bunch of FGMM once fired 7.62x51 brass that I have to remove the primer crimps from. Is it possible to swage and uniform primer pockets in the same step or do those tasks have to be performed separately? I'm currently planning on getting a Dillon Super Swage 600 if necessary. I'm open to hearing whatever you have to say. Thanks,
Adam

Re: Swaging/Primer Pocket Uniformer Question

I don't know of any tool that does both at the same time. I use PP uniforming as a check for crimp removal. If my primer pocket uniforming tool fits in the primer pocket so will the new primer.

110% with insight3b; that's exactly how I do it. Not all 'crimped' pockets need to be swaged.

That said, I do have Dillon swager and use it often because I pick up a lot of LEO brass at the range. Nice thing is once you've swaged, and you pick up your own brass, it's good to go.

Your deburring tool and a pocket reamer are handy too; just don't take off too much material. Often times just a quick twist of either and/or both is all it takes.
