Noob question:

I am moving a scope from a 22lr to a 6.5 Creedmoor

The scope is zeroed for 50 yds, using CCI SV.

Is there any way using a ballistic table for both rifles, to get the 6.5 close to zeroed before shooting?

I can bore-sight it, this is more just a curiosity question than anything

I recently switched a scope between my 22lr, 223 and 6.5CM.
If I consider the scope being zeroed to the 22lr; 223 required 1.2mil of elevation and the CM 7.3mil, windage was within 1mil on 223 and CM.

The rifles all had different cant in the rails: 22lr - 25moa, 223 - 20moa, CM-0moa.
Accounting for the different cant the elevation required was well within 1mil between then all.

Based on that if your rails all have the same cant then your zero will likely be very close, close enough for the first shot to be on target.

It will be close enough that if you put a larger size piece of paper at 100 you will see the first impact and be able to use the reticle as a ruler and dial on the correction and be very close on the second shot.

thanks for the explanation! my mounts are the same so it should be a bit easier even. for your 7.3 mil in elevation was that for a 200 yd zero? i am going to zero at 100 yds, as I am hunting an area with limited open space.
