Swarovski STR 80 reticle off center?

I recently bought a swaro str80 from eurootpic and just received the eyepiece from B&H photo today. When looking through the spotter and activating the reticle I noticed the reticle was significantly off center. I don’t know if this is normal? But from all of the reticle pictures online and in the instruction manual the reticle is centered. Just wondering if this is how it’s supposed to be? I can’t find a lot online about it. I tried to capture it in pictures. It was a little harder at high magnification. The one picture with the reticle at its brightest setting really shows a gap in the illumination to the outer edge. Just wondering if this is how it’s supposed to be. I wasn’t expecting an off center reticle.

It should be centered. I am closed today but back in the store tomorrow around 8AM. Give me a call, even though you bought it elsewhere, and I will put you in touch with the right folks at Swarovski (and i'll reach out to them as well) to get this expedited for you
Happy Thanksgiving

Awesome! Thank you so much. I appreciate it. I’ll give you a call tomorrow. Thanks again

I think this is legitimately the first Swarovski QC post I have ever seen. I'm sure it happens but I just don't see issues like this slipping through the QC process at the factory very often.
They sent me a shipping label and it’s on its way to Austria right now. they think the beam that projects the reticle was misaligned. I’ve never heard any problems with them before either. I tend to always get the only defective product of anything I buy hahaha. Their customer service was great. Thanks to Doug from cameraland for getting me in touch with the right people. I appreciate it.

I doubt it left their factory like that. Looks like it got dropped hard somewhere in it's journey. It sucks but great service makes the suck less sucky. :)

Do you have a resolution yet? Did you hear anything from Swaro since shipping?

They said they received it and I should have it back in January. The other day they sent me a message that they will give me notification when they are preparing to ship it back. Went on about package theft over the holidays and how I’ll have to have signature conformation stuff like that.

This happens - Mine had a similar issue and they resolved in short order. Swaro does a good job with warranty work.

Well I got the scope back from Swarovski and they centered the reticle up perfectly and the scope seems to work fine. The only problem now is the eyepiece that I had sitting in the safe the whole time while Swarovski had the scope got water on the inside or something. I swear to god I have some of the worst luck when it comes to this shit. I have no idea how this would have happened. I haven’t touched the eyepiece since I sent the scope in. This is pretty ridiculous. I’m not bad mouthing Swarovski at all they fixed my first problem no questions asked but now this. I tried cleaning the lenses and it’s still there. I can’t see any blemishes on the outside of the lenses. Basically brand new. Looks like I’ll be sending an eyepiece in too ?

It's probably grease. Mine looked like water had been flicked across it, and they said that it was grease. I sent it back to them, and they fixed it. It's badass once you get it working:)

You were right. It was grease from the magnification ring. They had expedited for free. Said they can repair it in the US so it doesn’t need shipped to Austria. I should recieve it back within 10 business days after they receive it. Customer service is great they have really been helping me out.

It's beautiful glass it will be worth the wait. Great product and great service are rare. Swaro rocks.
