Swarovski STR 80 Spotting Scope

Has anyone used one of these bad boys? Have one a buddy is trying to sell for $2500. I shoot MIL but it has a MOA reticle (looks like you can turn it on and off). Its been a safe queen. Not sure if the older models were any issues or anything. Any feedback would be great!

great piece of glass imho, you had better match your scope ret with it or simply shut it down and enjoy the view...

Reticle is illumination only, maybe holographic, so when it is turned off it is gone. Reticle is too bright right now, even at the lowest setting. 17mm eye relief (about 5/8"). 70.4 ounces with the 20-60X eyepiece. Still in prototype phase, but they're obviously close to completion. I don't expect major changes to happen.

That's out of my price range. I'd rather have a reticle visible without illumination. Took the wind out of my sails.
