Rifle Scopes SWFA 20x Opinions

Have a Sightron 111 5x25 on one 308, very nice, got a Bushy 4-30 elite coming for my 300 WSM, looking to get the SWFA 20 to finish refitting my main bolt guns (10FP 308). Wondering how the eye box and glass is on the 20x, they list a decent relief of 3.5" is this actual? Searched here and other places, most say get the 10x but I need more magnification to go out further (old eyes), but also need decent clarity and light transmission. Any advice appreciated.

I have one on one of my 50s, it is decient but is a little dark. That is my main complaint but for the price it is a great scope. I put it on as a temporary before a shoot I wanted to go to and several years later it is still there. I only shoot during the daylight and it has given me no reason to change it. I personally would go with the 16x or 12x for future purchases.

Mac, do you have a side focus or rear focus scope? Read the side focus model is a bit darker?

I have the 20X on my Savage MKII TR 22LR in mil/mil and love it for my old eyes. Good glass and reticle with rear focus. Eye box no more an issue than 20X magnification on my other scopes. Of course limited FOV and cannot back down magnification like on variable scopes, but great scope for the price and does what I want on my 22LR trainer.

Side focus is not available on any of the fixed scopes, other than the 10x. And most do report it is a fuzz "darker" than the rear-focus.

For a few hundred it's really hard to beat SWFA's line of fixed power options.

I have one on my 308, and I think its a little dim.

After reading here and some other reviews I went with the 16X milquad. Thanks for the guidance guys. Was worried about dark glass and the 16 will get me past 1k yds with some to spare.
